In the
second week of Term One, we were discussing how animals belong to a variety of
families. We discussed how dogs were from the canine family, cats were felines,
but were curious about what family humans are in. After searching on Google,
using the search terms ‘human’ and ‘family we found the following information:
Australopithecus africanus reconstruction

apes[notes 1]), as the term is used here, form
a taxonomic family, including four extant genera: chimpanzees (Pan), gorillas (Gorilla), humans (Homo), and orangutans (Pongo).[1]
Hi B4,
ReplyDeleteWOW you have certainly got some interesting thinking going on in your classroom. I have to be honest, there are lots of big words here that even I have never heard of. It would be interesting to find out what they mean and even to try and put them into a sentence wouldn't it. I'm enjoying challenging my thinking along with you too.
